Great Wall of China, China
Stretching from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, the Great Wall of China was built to protect the Chinese Empire in the 5th century. It is the ‘largest man made structure in terms of mass and area’, boasting a length of 8851.8 km including the length of actual wall, trenches and natural defensive blockades such as rivers and hills. The Great Wall of China boasts some of the notable features including the North Pass, West Pass, Pass of Shanhaiguan and surprisingly steep climbs. Such a marvelous structure, it truly is a wonder!
